WebThe European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) lets you get healthcare when abroad for free, or at a reduced cost. You can use the card in any European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country, or Switzerland. It covers you if you're on holiday, or on a short-term stay of no more than 3 months. WebThe European Health Insurance Card is valid for up to five years, and you may use it for as long as you are insured with us. If you are no longer insured with us and you use the EHIC anyway, you will be required to repay us for the costs incurred. The EHIC is strictly personal, meaning you cannot lend the card to someone else.
