We have done five so far this year and going to pull a calf off an old cow today and put on a heifer that lost her calf. We never get calves from outside our herd for donors. MT: We do at least 40-50 skin grafts a year, more on bad years. Never put the cows in the corral. Typically 4-8 miles to a corral and if muddy no access so this is how we’ve learned to do it. If done right it will rarely fail.
